This is Patrick Walberger (AKA “Pops”). Patrick is 49 years old, originally from New York. Patrick suffers from early onset dementia. He also suffered a major back injury in an accident years ago. He can only work light duty. He tries doing odd jobs to make money. He doesn’t beg, he tries to earn. He is currently homeless and has been on the streets for over 2 years now.

Most importantly he is a Christian who believes God has greater things for him. He is constantly talked down to, ridiculed, and taken advantage of in the streets, but he has a heart for others. He lends a helping hand to those who need it without asking for anything in return. He is tired of being in the streets, but due to his physical disability he can’t hold a stable job. He has children and grandchildren who won’t speak to him. He loves them and misses them, and wants to one day see his family.

I prayed with him today & he in turn prayed for me. He has faith that his homelessness is temporary & that God has greater plans for him. His dream is to pursue ministry, but his dementia is his only concern with that.

I would love to secure some donations to help him. He is always at the same gas station every day, where he helps clean up for some side cash. His food stamps only provide him $25.00 per month, yet he is grateful because God always provides.
