Let's Show some love for Ms. V

Hello Community,

I am writing because one of our elderly neighbors urgently needs help. Ms. V is a long-time resident of EAV. You may remember that the community helped her with an electric bill back when the pandemic started. Ms. V is of very limited means and needed power because she had young Grandnieces and Grandnephews living with her who needed to be remote learning capable. We raised the funds, and believe me, she was so, SO grateful for the kindness of strangers. Because of your generosity, her family got the same opportunity as other kids. She has housed and helped raise her Grandnieces and Grandnephews for years. She is truly an amazing woman. Her niece (the mom of the kids that live with her) lost her job and car due to COVID-19. Because Ms. V has a reverse mortgage credit issues due to trying to stay afloat, she has bankruptcy payments (I don’t understand this, she’s made to pay $260 a month for the next two years). Her taxes are way more than she can deal with this year. Her food allowance has decreased this year. She is almost 90 and so stressed and worried about it all. Her neighbor Molly and I feel this is not right.

We are doing a GoFundMe to help cover some of her expenses and take the stress off until she can get advice from a financial advisor and a plan going forward.

She is one of the most selfless people we have ever met and it’s heartbreaking to see her so scared. She wants not to worry every month “until I die.” I just hope we can help. She is close to 90 yrs old, has worked and served her whole life. If anyone has a few dollars to spare it would make a remarkable woman's life a whole lot brighter and hopefully she wouldn’t need to worry everyday.
