Dear Friends and Neighbors of Sam's Deli,
The Elberih Deli, or "Sam's" as we all knew it, on the corner of Bergen and Bond Streets, has closed. This is a fundraiser to express our gratitude and support to Sam, and to thank him for his 31 years in our neighborhood. For many of us, Sam was our steadiest presence on the block, a comfort from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day of the year. We watched his children grow up, and he ours. For some of us, "to Sam's" was our children's first solo excursions. His store was an important piece of our neighborhood’s fabric and its closing is a huge loss.
We already miss him and hope you will join us in putting together this farewell for Sam. We'll keep the site up for a few weeks and try to wrap this up by the end of October. Questions or comments? Please use the "Contact" button below.
