Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for your help for someone many of us know and love — our friend and brother, Christopher Smellie.

Chris is currently facing an incredibly difficult time due to serious medical challenges within his immediate family. The emotional toll has been compounded by severe financial strain, and he now finds himself in urgent need of our support.

When I first heard the news, I was deeply moved and saddened. I kept asking myself, “What can I do?” That same day, I saw a man struggling on the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Black Creek Drive — and I couldn’t help but think: That could be Chris. That could be me. That could be any of us.

I knew I had to act. My answer was to crowdfund — to come to our community, friends, and extended network, and ask each of you to help, if you're able.

No amount is too small, and every contribution — financial, emotional, or spiritual — will go a long way. If you’ve ever known Chris, you know his heart. Now’s our chance to show him he’s not alone.
