Let's Make Real Impact For The Unhoused

My name is Jahkil Jackson. Keep in mind that I am a preteen in this video so my voice is very sqeeky!

I am now 16 years-old and am the founder of Project I Am NFP. I started this organization when I was 8 years old. We create awareness and provides temporary support and long-term solutions for the unhoused globally. I'm raising money purchase supplies to celebrate our 8th anniversary of Project I Am where we will create and distribute 1,000 blessing bags filled with socks, wash cloths, snacks and toiletry items.

I was first interested in helping with this epidemic when I was just 5 years old. I met an unhoused man laying on a cold and dirty Chicago street. After this experience, I knew I wanted to do more and thanks to the support of family, friends and the public, my initiative has grown over the years to impact over 135,000 people in need across the world!

I have worked with almost 2,000 youth volunteers, all of which have helped people who are unhoused, living on the streets or take residence at shelters. I have given out bags to those in need in Chicago, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Detroit, Maryland, Virginia and globally in Mbabane and Swaziland, as well as natural disaster survivors in Florida, Houston, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

In addition to helping with daily essentials, I am trying to end homelessness! Can you imagine not having a place to sleep at night? What if it was your friend, cousin, mom or dad? What if it were you? Why wait to be great? We can make an impact today. Will you join me in making change in the world?

Each bag costs approximately $10 to create. Every donation, no matter how big or small, is capable of making a change in the lives of others. I understand that not everyone may be in a position to help monetarily, so I would truly appreciate if you could share the campaign and help us spread the word about this important cause.
