Hi everyone — it’s Kris,
Over the past years, YOUR SUPPORT has already helped create real change at the SALAMA Craft Community Center in Kibera, Nairobi. Thanks to the funds raised through this network, the project has grown and strengthened in remarkable ways — and that’s why I’m reaching out again this year.
SALAMA is a vibrant community space that empowers young mothers and vulnerable women with skills, confidence, and opportunities to build sustainable futures for themselves and their children.
Two years ago, I had the privilege of volunteering there, and since then I’ve continued supporting fundraising efforts because the impact is visible and lasting. With your donations, the following improvements were made:
✨ An additional level was built
✨ New bathrooms were constructed and facilities improved
✨ The childcare area was upgraded so mothers can learn while their children are cared for
✨ More programs were introduced — including tailoring, beauty & hairdressing, catering, and life skills
✨ The center now works closely with social workers and community partners
✨ New collaborations were created, including computer skills training and job pathways
All of this was made possible because of YOUR GENEROSITY!
SALAMA exists for women who often have nowhere else to turn — offering practical skills, emotional support, a place to belong, and real chances for independence. To keep this progress going and grow even further, we once again depend on your support.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps fund for:
Vocational training and skill building
Childcare support so mothers can learn
Facility upkeep and improvements
Materials and income-generating resources
THANK YOU for being part of this journey and for making real change possible!
Kris
