My name is Stephanie and I am the proud Auntie of baby Owen. On January 31st, Owens parents brought him into Urgent Care because Owen had been irritable and inconsolable for two days. Owen was also having problems with his oxygen levels and had crackling going on in his chest. They tested him for COVID , strep and Influenza. Later that day they found out that he had tested positive for COVID. On February 1st, they brought Owen back into Urgent Care because he was having breathing issues and they were worried about dehydration. When they got to urgent care, Owens o2 stats were in the low 70’s and was immediately transferred to the ED by ambulance. At the hospital they determined it was best to have him transferred to St. Mary’s in Rochester. They transported Owen by ambulance that afternoon. The doctors in Mankato and Rochester were convinced that Owen didn’t currently have COVID, based on the way his body was reacting to his symptoms. They think he may have had it in the past. Owen had been diagnosed with pneumonia four weeks prior and was put on a round of antibiotics. The doctors determined that he had pneumonia again. Owen has been on a cpap machine to help with his breathing, because of the pneumonia about 1/5th if his lungs are not receiving the proper oxygen that they need. They also are doing more antibiotics to get rid of the pneumonia. Owen is looking at a7-10 day stay in Rochester if everything goes well.
The reason I’m raising money is because I feel absolutely helpless right now and since I can’t go physically help them, I want to help with the costs that they are going to incur while they are down in Rochester. They are staying in a hotel across the street from the hospital, so they are close to baby Owen. They are going having to go out to eat for every meal and will be driving back and forth to Mankato to see their oldest babe, Evelyn. Not to mention two ambulance rides and the medical bills that are piling up. I want to be able to help alleviate some of the stress that they are going through right now. If you want to help us help them, our family would all be truly grateful for your willingness to do so.
We are praying constantly that Owen makes progress day by day, so that he can go home soon with his mom and dad and see his big sister.
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10
