When Ross was born, it was unclear what the future would hold for him and his family. Medical professionals were skeptical of Ross’s future, but his devoted mom, Laura, knew then that every moment with Ross would be a blessing, no matter the difficulty, and rose to the challenge placed before her. As a baby, it became clear that Ross would live with a myriad of lifelong health challenges. Eleven years later— through the countless difficulties that come with Dandy Walker Syndrome, dysphagia, spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, microcephaly, sleep apnea, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, and most recently, recurrent pneumonia, just to name a few— his playful and loving spirit still shines through every day.
Ross loves being playful and silly with his older brother, Daivian. The many people who love him describe him as feisty, strong, funny, loving, determined and silly. He enjoys laughing at his mom, and hates when people talk over him. He loves attention, and like any 11 year old, his personality is undeniably unique.
Ross’s life has not been easy, but he has had the good fortune of growing up surrounded by love— especially the love of his dedicated mother, Laura. Without a vehicle to accommodate his needs, Ross and Laura have extremely limited mobility. Any contribution made to this campaign will be put towards the purchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle that would allow Ross and Laura the mobility that so many of us take for granted.
