Hi everyone,
My name is Gracia, born in Jamaica, raised in the UK.
My family are from Geneva, Peggy Barry in Grange Hill, as well as Savannah La Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica.
The area is devastated and its truly heart breaking to witness and feel so helpless from abroad.
My dad is an ordained Pastor and an Electrician and has been in the eye of the aftermath. Not being able to hear from him for over 2 days was beyond stressful.
Thank the universe he is well and managed to help surrounding neighbours by offering shelter in our home whilst theirs is in ruin during the height of Hurricane Melissa passing and continuing to help until they have the right support.
I want my father to continue his service to help the community to make sure donations are going through to the right channels to help our people of Jamaica while he is on the ground and I have immediate contact.
I want to help raise funds to buy food from local sources and building materials from Mr Daley's and available companies to help rebuild the roofs and homes of the families affected the most by Hurricane Melissa, in this immediate area over the upcoming weeks ahead and potentially offer these resources through the church.
My aim is raise 1 million Jamaican dollars for the ones less fortunate.
Any little helps.
Our prayers, love, strength and light goes out to all affected, directly and indirectly.
Thank you in advance.
I will keep you posted with the outcomes of your donations.
Please share.
