Last week Ben was robbed of his life’s collection of instruments. Not only do these help him make a living but also had huge sentimental value to him.
Ben has poured his heart and soul into music and has devoted everything he has to that passion. For so many of us his music has brought us joy; the background and spirit to weddings, funerals, birthdays, and so many other celebrations of love and life. His music has graced many of our homes, yards, garages, and is our release after a long week’s work.
I’ll never forget listening to Ben’s metal band Terminus in high school where he was the lead guitarist. When he decided to try his hand at singing and son writing as a teenager, he played tirelessly for hours honing his craft. Sometimes it wasn’t always pretty and I wanted to throw a shoe at the wall when he’d start landslide over and over again until he got it just right. Boy am I glad he never stopped...
His music and guitars got him though some of the toughest times of his life; from losing his brother to almost losing his own life to diabetes.
We all love Ben and I know how much everyone out there wants to help bring the joy back to him. Let’s pick him up like he’s picked up so many of us. I know times are tough for many right now but every little bit helps. These are the pieces that were stolen from his home last week. I know we can’t bring back the value they had to his heart but we can help bring back the music for him.
Thank you all for you love and support! We love you Ben Benkert!!!!
