Let’s help our Brother Juan
Donation protected
On January 3 2023, after working countless hours restoring power for our customers, one of our most skilled linemen at PG&E was made an example of for a safety violation that was caught by a news crew.
He was made an example of for a mistake that almost all linemen in the trade have made at one time or another. Not “clipping in”. We have all worked around and with Juan Galvan for many years and know that this is not a common practice for him. He was simply too focused on his task at hand, and made a mistake.
Juan was hired in March of 2011 and has had no previous safety violations on his record. Juan has proudly represented PG&E around the nation competing in linemen rodeos and was even sent to the International Lineman Rodeo to compete for them twice. He answered the call from PG&E to travel to Florida when hurricane Irma hit, shaking the hand of the FL&P CEO while he exited the plane. He has worked countless fires, storms and regular jobs without any safety violations or incidents, but when a news crew captured him on camera making one mistake, his image was slandered by the company he invested so much time into through an email that was sent to every employee and contractor stating that “His career was the only thing that was lost” and that he has “Lost the chance to work for us at any capacity “ before he himself was ever informed of his termination.
Juan has been informed that he will be terminated on Monday, January 9, 2023 leaving him, and his pregnant wife without income or health insurance.
We are starting this go fund me to help our brother stay afloat during this difficult and frustrating time. A time that is supposed to be full of excitement and happy anticipation that has been taken away by ONE mistake.
Stay strong brother Galvan!
