Hello to our much-appreciated community. Owners of a beloved gathering place and Icelandic sheep farm are hoping to re-build their farm building after its collapse under the huge snow load this past winter. Kimber Valley Farms is home to a flock of purebred Icelandic sheep and their livestock guardian donkey as well as several barn cats and an adorable dog. They host 3 large Farmers & Makers Market per year, which have become a favourite gathering place for the community and for many visitors near and far. Part of their goal is to share their beautiful Beaver Valley farm with others; to bring people together; to help support other local farmers and artisans as well as to promote unique farm experiences and the Icelandic wool products from their sheep. These farm experiences include fun and educational farm tours, fibre workshops, off-grid cabins as well as other events that help share the story of their amazing Viking sheep and the natural healthy benefits of wool.

It’s hard to accept help but after months of challenges with insurance, many discussions around re-imagining the future of the farm and a healthy dose of prodding from community members, the farm owners, Catherine and Lynn, have agreed to be open to us starting this go fund me campaign. While there was some insurance coverage, it is significantly less than the cost of rebuilding. Always looking on the positive side of things, the farm owners are forging ahead and have begun taking steps to rebuild. We would love to help get them back on their feet. Let’s come together, as we know many hands make light work!! Any size donation be it small or large will help and is so greatly appreciated. • Customize a private experience for your group — they love hosting private groups big or small and can even accommodate coach buses for summer tours and workshops.

• Shop local — the Farm Shop is open Saturdays 11–4, or shop online.

• Book your spot in a Fall or Winter Workshops – either on the farm or at your own home.

• Keep an eye on social media for upcoming special events and farm experiences — Proceeds will help the recovery and rebuilding efforts.
