Our friend Noel needs our help!

We've all known Noel for a very long time. He's been struggling for some time. His family has been helping him through the government healthcare and disability systems, which alone is a full-time job.

Noel is not disabled enough or broke enough for government assistance beyond minimal healthcare, which he has to re-apply for every time his work hours change. And it changes very frequently.

Noel's employer refuses to give him enough hours for full benefits. Noel helps our elderly in their final weeks. Whenever his patients pass away, his hours of work go to zero, and he finds himself barely able to keep the lights on. (And yes, he has applied to many, many other jobs)

Noel was diagnosed with Asperger's really late in life.

He is only now getting the mental assistance to understand his situation.

Noel has insulin-dependent diabetes. When he has to re-apply for health coverage, it takes weeks for approvals and coverage to kick in. Sometimes he has to pay for insulin himself. As you've heard on the news, the price for insulin can range from $80 to $800, whichever way the wind blows! And with medicaid on the chopping block, he may lose his healthcare all together.

Noel owns and lives in his trailer. But it requires MAJOR fixes/replacements. The winters are brutal in Minnesota.

$6000 of the funds will be used for immediate fixes to his home. The remaining will support his daily living and ongoing trailer/car maintenance. This will be an annual request.
