Let's help the People of John's - Willow Glen after Break-in

"Why do that to me? . . . What have I done wrong?"

Antonio J. Carmona, co-owner of John's of Willow Glen, asked himself these questions after his beloved restaurant in the heart of Willow Glen was broken into in late August.

Two cash registers were stolen, along with their contents, and thousands of dollars in damage was done to the kitchen, where the thief entered. In addition, employees were unable to work and earn tips while the restaurant was closed following the theft.

The cost of damages has risen well above original estimates. Lost earnings for the impacted employees add thousands of dollars more to the amount that will be required to make things whole again. Insurance, if it comes through, would cover only a portion of the losses. All in, the costs will exceed $10,000.

This Go Fund Me campaign is an effort by fans of Antonio, his staff, and of John's itself, to show our support so that employees can be paid and repairs can be made without negatively impacting restaurant operations. This restaurant--run by incredibly hard working people--is a treasured part of what makes our community special.
