My name is Jerryson Faithboy Willie, a professional footballer, and I am raising this fundraiser for my close friend and brother, James Ayinde Gbenga, a former professional soccer player who is currently battling kidney cancer.

In 2024, doctors discovered that a tumor had covered about 80% of one of James’s kidneys. He was advised to remove the kidney to prevent the tumor from spreading, and he bravely went through the surgery. Unfortunately, since then James has not fully recovered, and his condition has become more serious. He has now been diagnosed with kidney cancer and urgently needs medical support and treatment.

James is Nigerian and I am Liberian, but football brought us together like family. During the 2023/2024 season we lived together in the same apartment while playing for KF Lushnja in the Kategoria e Parë football league in Albania. Living together during that time turned us into brothers.

James is one of the kindest people I know. He has always been there for me and for others, and now he is the one who needs support.
