In May 2024, Natalie was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. She underwent a life-changing surgery followed by intensive daily radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite a successful surgery, Natalie’s recovery had complications—she required a feeding tube and faced repeated hospitalizations. Then, less than three months after finishing her initial treatment, a new tumor developed just above the original site. With surgery no longer an option, she began a regimen aimed at slowing the tumor’s growth to preserve her quality of life. However, after two rounds of rigorous chemotherapy and immunotherapy, her doctors had to discontinue treatment as the tumor was advancing too quickly.
The progression of her illness has already taken its toll: Natalie has lost vision in her right eye from swelling and growth and now experiences significantly reduced mobility, now needing round-the-clock care at home. Her mother has been by her side since January, remaining homebound to care for her.
At this critical time, every moment spent together is precious. Financial support to ease the burden of daily expenses would not only relieve some of the immediate pressures but also allow the family and her daughter to focus on creating lasting memories with Natalie. Watching my friend and her family struggle with this position they are in is heartbreaking and just so unfair. I hope we as a community can come together to help them have this important time together ❤️
