Denise Daley is one awesome person who is so close to my heart – she is family to me. She has been there when it hits the fan and has never waivered in her support of me.
So now it’s my turn….
I am deeply proud of the person, woman, and mother she is. Denise has always survived the challenges she has faced and, on most days, has done it with a smile and a witty comment (and behind closed doors more than a few tears!). AND believe me- Denise has faced many challenges throughout her life. She is also, like many, too proud to ask for help.
Denise chose not to go to college after high school to help with the household bills as her mom could no longer work. In addition, while pregnant with her second child, Denise also cared for her mom who suffered from a stroke and diabetes and eventually lost both legs and her life to the diseases.
Denise has selflessly raised two beautiful children (the majority on her own) who have truly turned into wonderful individuals who both share her wicked sense of humour.
As a single mom, Denise has run two small businesses in order to make ends meet. For 8 years, she ran a daycare from her home and simultaneously owned a dog walking business throughout the day to ensure that she was able to be home with her children.
Denise is amazing at organizing and budgeting to ensure that not only the day-to-day needs were met but also that birthdays, school trips, pizza days, easter, Christmas gifts ….as parents we know that the list can be endless. Its very hard for a parent to tell a child that they cannot go on a school trip simply because the funds were not available.
I am sure you are wondering where I am going with this…
As of November 2020, Denise and her kids lives changed drastically. The father to her children passed away suddenly leaving her as the sole parent to not only raise her children but also be financially responsible for them. Denise has always been what I would consider a single parent but now it was official.
At the same time, as many, Denise was forced to shut down her two small business due to covid and lose the only income she had to rely on. She and her family have really struggled the last year and a half.
BUT!!!!
During this time, Denise has decided to take the time to shine, put herself first and let her children see what a strong woman, person, mom does AND has gone back to school. Denise recognized through this process that she loves working for herself but it’s time to re-enter the world of Education and begin a whole new path at 49!!
I find this so inspiring and brave!!
NOW the ask!!
Denise has spent a lifetime of giving to others and I would love if her community could support her during this time of need. She will never ask for the support BUT I am!
Denise has received OSAP to go back to school. A large portion of it will be re-payable upon graduation. She is also not able to work during this time or they will scale back her support. The money she has received is to pay for tuition, books and help feed and shelter herself and her two children during her time at school. The amount of money she has received will not take her to the two years it will take to finish her course.
Please help support a beautiful strong soul who has been given the time to not only show her children how to believe in yourself and succeed BUT also how to shine in the times of adversity!!
All contribution towards her Go fund Me are welcome and would be greatly appreciated.
