Let's help Dakota and Camryn!

Anybody who is blessed to know either Dakota or Camryn are well aware of what generous spirits they possess. These two individuals have opened their hearts and their home to family, friends, and strangers alike. Although they are not the type to ever ask for assistance, I can think of no greater recipients of community support than these two.

Dakota and Camryn received custody of a little boy, Roland, almost by accident. Dakota was asked by an acquaintance if he would consider taking in this child under a private court-ordered safety plan, and their answer was a resounding "yes." This should surprise nobody who has ever met them before! Since then, they have continued to provide a stable, loving family environment for Ro.

A year later, Dakota and Camryn were married and embarked on the journey of spending the rest of their lives together. During this hectic time, they received a call that Ro's biological mother had given birth to an extremely premature baby girl with multiple medical needs and they were asked to take her in under a private safety plan as well. They were caught off guard at this unexpected news. Despite the obvious challenges and financial hardship that this would impose, they again agreed to this without hesitation.

Throughout this process, they have encountered multiple legal expenses and expenses for Layla's medical appointments or hospitalizations. Because their custody agreement is a private arrangement, they do not receive any support from a county DHR office or other state organization. Dakota continues to work as an EMT and is pursuing his EMT-A, while Camryn works full-time as a phlebotomist. These two individuals are the embodiment of selflessness across the board, even down to their career choices.

Neither of them have asked me to do this, and they might be mortified by my attempts to help them in this manner. I am hoping raising funds to put towards their legal expenses, medical expenses, and other financial burdens that their adventure in unexpected parenting has placed upon them. They are truly some of the finest people I have ever met and deserve nothing less. Let's cover them in our support!
