Let’s help Courtney get the goals she wants

Hi my name is Lisa, I'm the mum of Courtney. Courtney was diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 2/3/2023 at the age of just 15 years old, sadly we were told she can’t have an operation to remove the tumour as she would end up loosing her eyesight the only option is to have chemo so she had to have 2 major operations on her brain, one to help her fluid drain properly and two, for a shunt to be permanently fitted inside her head to be able to be somewhat her normal self again. While she was under her second op for a shunt, she had a port fitted ready for her chemo she had to go though 85 weeks of horrible chemo which knocked her confidence as she started to loose her hair and started too loose weight drastically which ended up her having to have a NG tube fitted which knocked her confidence even more. She didn't like going outside the house because people would look at her. She has to have scans every 6 months and her eye sight checked every 6 months to make sure that nothing has changed as if it has she could end up loosing her eye sight which he is trying to prevent from happing. We met some amazing friends in hospital who have been there and are now like family to us. She had to do her school work at home and her GCSE’s at home and she sadly lost most of her friends due to her diagnosis. She reached her 16th birthday and couldn’t do nothing but sit at home and for or a 16 year old to just sit at home and be so poorly, that is just soul destroying. She finished her last chemo on the 7th of November, on the 10th of November she had a brain scan to see how the tumor was a few days later, we spoke to the specialist and he sadly told us that the tumor has grown so we have to have another scan in a couple of weeks to see how it’s progressing and on the 15th of November she rang the bell on her birthday and had a birthday/end of chemo party to celebrate. I have set up this go fund me for her to have as much fun with doing what ever she wants in life until sadly that is taken from her with her loosing her eye sight thank you for taking time out reading this very long paragraph.
