Hi everyone, I am going to try to keep my request short. Most of you who live in our Emeryville community know our neighbor Chris that lives in a tent next to the community garden, many of you have spoken to him in passing. Chris is a very nice, intelligent, soft spoken man who is most often seen reading a book. He has been working with the city as well as Operation Dignity for the last year to try to find a way out of homelessness without results.
With the non-stop rain over the last few nights Chris’ home is and all of his belongings are completely soaked. I walked down to visit with him this evening and found him walking (he was completely soaked) he had been at the city offices trying to get help. We sat down to chat about what he had been dealing with when he completely broke down. He has lost all hope. This man needs a break. He is a good man, He could really use a few dry nights and a place to clean his laundry.
Chris’ 48th Birthday is on the 27th. Can we all pitch in and give this man a dry place to sleep and some much needed hope? I would so appreciate any amount that you could spare.
Thank you
Cammille
