Our friend and neighbor lost her home and two beloved dogs in a fire Sunday night. Fortunately, crews managed to help her escape in time to save her life but she left with only the pajamas on her back and a gash to the head. Candace has occupied her home for over 30 years and has been a constant fixture in the neighborhood, walking her two dachshunds Billy Boy and Mozart. She is a senior on a limited income who lost everything.

We are all devastated for Candace and want to help her get back on her feet. Because she barely made it out alive, Candace will need a heck of a lot in the immediate; clothes, shoes, medications, cel phone, replacement keys for her van, IDs, etc. She literally left with nothing but pajamas and fortunately, a winter coat. Because this is all overwhelming for her right now the neighborhood is joining forces to raise funds to help Candace rebuild her life as she grieves the loss of her home and sweet little companions. She did have insurance but that will at best cover the cost to rebuild her home and she currently has no where to live in the meantime and nothing but the clothes on her back and a van with no keys.
