Hi! My name is Genesee and I’m a close family friend with the Bradley/Davey family. Framily, that’s what most people are to this incredible family if you are lucky enough to know them. Their open arms for people is contagious and we are so thankful for the many wonderful memories we’ve made, and will continue to make!

We met JohnnyB and Lisa back in 2002 on the softball fields when they were coaching his girls and we were coaching Zoe. Quickly we all became not only buddies on and off the field, we vacationed together in the desert in the winters and to Campland in the summers. Johnny and Lisa have become second parents to my kids, their kids best friends/siblings with my kids. So special!

Johnny has unfortunately experienced some very serious heart trouble recently and it was elevated very quickly on Tuesday, August 8th. Even though he was under doctor care and on medications to help him, he went into cardiac arrest multiple times. Lisa was thankfully home and sprung into action, giving him CPR until the medical professionals were able to help. Unfortunately, time had passed and they weren’t sure of his brain health for a few days. They basically had to sedate him and bring his body temperature extremely low to slow down the demands on his organs. But! Like the warrior he is, he came back responsive! But after so many medical approaches to get him there; one being the machines to help him with his heart and breathing, he has become more and more dependent on those machines.

Each day since he went into cardiac arrest, they have taken him partially or fully out of sedation to see if he can be without the machines only to be let down each time. If we are not able to get Johnny to be able to get off the machines, the next option is a life with a trach.

Meanwhile, their oldest daughter Heather is expecting their first Grandson mid September. This has been a heartbreaking element to not only an expecting first time Mom, but also to a daughter that wants to see her Dad hold her son when he’s born. She was forced to go on disability early because of the stress on the baby.

Their other daughter Amanda was engaged in March and was booking her wedding location when Johnny went into cardiac arrest. As you can imagine, she wants her beloved Dad to walk her down the aisle.

Lisa, Heather, Amanda, their son Matt, sons in law Sammy and Chris have been by his side the entire time to this point. Soon, there will have to be practical and big life decisions made and it is so taxing on the family. Can you imagine going down to see your family member each day, full of new hope, only to go home realizing tomorrow is a new day and one must carry on.

Even if Johnny recovers enough to come home, he will never work again. Let’s help rally for this family and lift some of the burden of bills until Lisa is in a position to get all of their affairs in order.
