Help Randy Heal After a Hit-and-Run
On Chamblin Street, there’s a kind older gentleman named Randy Clayton whom I speak with nearly every day. You’ll usually see him riding by on his three-wheeled bicycle or walking with his cane. Despite facing homelessness and his own struggles, Randy is one of the warmest, most genuine people I’ve met since moving here. He always stops to chat, brings positivity to everyone he meets, and has even given money to my family during a tough time—purely out of kindness, even when he had little himself.
A few days ago, I walked outside to find a large cookie cake on my doorstep. After asking around, I suspected Randy might be behind it—but he hadn’t been by in days. Today I finally saw him and asked, and sure enough, he was our mystery gift giver.
That’s when he told me why he’d been gone: Randy was the victim of a hit-and-run.
While doing yet another good deed for someone else, a vehicle struck him near the stop sign at the end of Chamblin Street after Beason Street. The driver fled the scene, leaving him injured on the roadside. Randy never asks for help. He gives it.
But right now, he needs support.
How We Can Help
We’re raising funds to assist Randy with basic needs, medical recovery, and to give him some stability after this traumatic incident. Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference in helping him get back on his feet.
Randy is deeply grateful to know that people care about what happened to him, and he asked me to share one message with everyone:
“Jesus loves us.”
Let’s show Randy that kindness comes back around.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting a truly good man.
