Hey everyone, this is Morgan Potter. I’m making this GoFundMe on behalf of my grandma, Evelyn Remus. While everyone knows my grandma is one of the strongest people in the world, she gave up her life and health to make sure my papa, Scott Remus, would be okay, and to make sure I was okay with losing my dad recently. She always put everyone before herself, always worrying about every single thing and making sure everyone was okay before her own self.
While Evelyn has been one strong friend, grandma, aunt, best friend, mother, and wife, her health hasn’t been. She was doing just fine, her normal self, kicking it and being as sassy as she can be. But within the blink of an eye, she went from the hospital room for a week to hospice at home. Our beloved Evelyn is spending the last bits of her life with everyone she loves and knows. My grandma has been through so much with losing her youngest son, Joshua Remus, in 2023, and her oldest son, Jerry Potter, last December, as well as her sister and brother and almost her husband. Everything she’s been put through in the last 2 1/2 years hasn’t slowed her down when it came to putting everyone before herself. Even when in the hospital this past week, she still wasn’t worried about her own well-being and was worried about everyone else. She kept saying, “I’m gonna get out of here,” “I’m gonna get home,” “You guys need to go do what you gotta do.”
Well, now we made sure she got what she wanted the most and she is home with her dog, Bartender, loving family, and friends. We don’t exactly have a specific time we know for sure, but all we know is it is coming close. She is comfortable and in her home like she wanted, and as happy as we can help make her. So, in all, I am making this GoFundMe to try and raise money to help my papa and myself with this time. I want to try and make these difficult and stressful moments just a tiny bit easier on us with the costs of those things when the time comes.
Thank you to all who have been there for my grandma even before this hit; being her friends, being her family.
