I recently crossed paths with a beautiful soul named Tessema, though many simply call him “Truth” — because of how honest, kind, and genuine he is.

Truth gave me the last of the money in his wallet — not once, but offered a second time — without hesitation.

Truth has been sleeping in a rundown, dirty van, after he was evicted years ago. Unfortunately due to strict parking rules in San Diego, his van was recently taken away and he has been sleeping on the streets with nothing but the clothes on his back. Cops have threatened to ticket him and jail him for this….

He doesn’t do drugs — just sips a beer to try and cope with the weight of feeling unseen, hopeless, and dreamless.
