Let's get Jesse some wheels!

Donation protected
Jesse was born in 2018, premature at 31 weeks.  He had a number of complications due to premature rupture of membranes at 19.5 weeks and his prematurity.

Just as they were getting ready to leave the neonatal unit, Beth and Ollie were told that Jesse had severe bilateral brain damage - Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). They were told he would have a number of physical and leaning difficulties and may not be able to see, hear or eat and that it was likely he would have Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy.

Jesse was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Cerebral Visual impairment in 2020 however, he has continued to defy the odds and has proven time and time again that he will not be pigeon holed or written off.

A lot of this is down to his determination and his fighting spirit but a huge amount of this is down to the tireless efforts of Beth and Ollie and wider family to do everything possible to give Jesse the best chance available to live his life to the absolute fullest.

Last week Jesse got to try a Wizzybug.  This is a type of equipment that would give Jesse some independence in getting around and joining in.

There are other models which would last longer as Jesse grows and depending on how much is raised will determine what type of wheels Jesse gets!!

As with most pieces of equipment for children with additional needs it is expensive and there are long waiting lists to get one on loan so it is likely that for him to benefit his family will have to buy one themselves.

Since Jesse was born his family have continually raised money for causes that have supported them such as Nottingham City Hospital NICU and Footprints but never once have they asked for help themselves and I am pretty sure they never would because that is who they are - selfless to a fault.

But, I am not afraid to ask because I know that so many people love them and want to help them in any small way they can.

So if you are able to donate,  even a small amount, I would really appreciate it.
