Who doesn’t love the zoo?

Hi everyone, my name is Jessica Flanigan. Back in 2023, we lost our sweet little bestie, Emmett, in a tragic accident. Emmett was such a bright, spunky little soul who brought so much joy to everyone around him. One of his absolute favorite places was The Calgary Zoo—especially the lions, they matched his lion, “Simba,” that he would bring everywhere.

As a way to honor Emmett’s memory, his wonderful parents have given me their blessing to create this GoFundMe. Our hope is to raise enough money to gift Emmett a memorial bench right outside the lion enclosure—a place that filled his heart with so much excitement and wonder.

Once placed, the bench will remain at the zoo for 10 years, serving as a special spot where his family, friends, and all who visit can sit, smile, and remember Emmett’s beautiful spirit.
