Lets get Ellie-Mai to Disneyland

Here is  our story from the beginning... After my first scan (11wks 3 days ) it was noticed that there was something wrong with Ellie-mais spine . We was referred over to fetal medicine where our journey began.. On the 15th November 2019..it was confirmed Ellie-mai had spina bifida . The lesion was very bad and quite large ..over the next few scans it became clear she had spina bifida myelomeningocele..and hydrocaphalus . My whole world came crashing down . My heart was broken.i cried alot ..what had i done wrong  :( ..the answer was nothing ...1 in so many thousands develop this . ELLIE-MAI WAS THAT 1 !!!! Soon as i got home i researched everything ..watched videos u name it . AS the weeks went on ..i was told we may qualify for fetal surgery and so off to london we went to meet a top surgeon from belgium. We didnt qualify ..we then learnt that Ellie-mai also had a kyphosis on her spine which meant i couldnt have the fetal surgery . I prayed every single day for a miracle . On my 30 wk scan it got worse ...the fluid around Ellie-mais brain had taken over which meant she would be severly brain damaged and paralized from the waist down . I was given the choice to not have my baby at every single hospital appointment ..this broke me ..this was my baby how dare you say this ..and so my answer every single time was NO !!!! . She is my baby and she is kickin away inside me she will show u all you have got this wrong.... Ellie-mai was brought out early ..on the 25th april 2019 at 2.04pm . To everyones suprise she ..could move her legs and feet ...she could wee and open her bowels on her own !!!! Ellie-mai had life changing surgery on the 28th april 2019 she was just 4 days old ..6 hours later we was told it went well and the vp shunt had also been fitted in her head to reduce the fluid and help her head go down from being quite enlarged . We came home on the 7th may 2019 !!!! Since being home ...my girl has shown everyone just how strong she is ...she isnt severly brain damaged ..she moves her legs and feet her way and she still wees and poos !!!!! No catheter .. She is amazing . Every check up we have shes smashing it We have physio ...hydro ...play ..every week  :) . I know exactly what the outcome is meant to be and i am fully prepared however ...i know my baby will walk ....whether it just be short distances or not she will !!!! Doctors do not always get it right !!!! Had i listened to them my beautiful girl would not be here now This is our story Mummy and Ellie-mai
