Let’s get Cindy some wheels…

Hey SOV’s…

As many of you know, our dear friend Cindy, has had a brutally horrendous run of late, and consequently her whole world has been turned upside down. Not only is she enduring the mental, emotional and physical pain and anguish of an accident (that wasn’t her fault) and all of the unfathomable circumstances surrounding it, she’s also now in a significantly challenging financial position too.
In summary, she’s the lead in a shit show she never auditioned for!

So what’s my point you ask… well, I’m going to do something here that I know she won’t do - and ask for your help!!

Every day I see this Queen show up for us - creating positivity and engagement, encouraging and supporting those that lack a little confidence, welcoming the newbies, being a voice of strength for those who are silent, and so often a voice of reason, adding dimensions of humour, depth and complete rawness, stepping up and being a true leader! So now SOV’s, it’s our turn to step up and support her in a time when she needs us the most, when things are feeling pretty damn hopeless. It’s our turn to come together as a community, to help lift her spirit and alleviate some of the pain she’s feeling…

So what’s happened and how can we help ‍♀️

In case you’ve missed it: a few weeks ago Cindy was in a car accident heading home from a group event, and whilst it was her car involved, she was NOT the driver. The accident was severe enough that she was taken to hospital by ambulance, and her car has since been declared a write off. Now for the fun part - it turns out the driver (a close friend that she trusted) was intoxicated, and unlicensed (she did not know this at the time), and to top it off, lied to the police stating she was the driver. Cindy has spent the last few weeks trying to prove she was not the driver as she faced a $13k fine, plus additional costs, loss of license for 2 years and imprisonment. Due to a Cindy’s perseverance on this matter he’s since revoked his statement to the police - thank goodness!! But man oh man, talk about stress!!

Now unfortunately, due to the circumstances, insurance isn’t going to cover anything. A $30K hump of metal now rendered as garbage. Add to that, Cindy can’t work - she’s casual, so no work no pay. Then there’s no car = can’t get to treatment, or work if she was allowed. Then there’s the injuries that have her struggling with changing bed sheets or holding a pen. A 10 minute exercise turns into an ordeal. Oh and for good measure let’s just throw some medical bills on top of it all. To go a civil suit is going to cost money which she just doesn’t have. Even if it gets to court, it could be two years. If he’s in prison, no point. And if he says he can only afford $25 a week - they may just wipe the “debt” which is common.

As you can see, it’s an extremely sh#tty situation and she needs us!

So, I’ve set up a “Go Fund Me” page in hopes that we can raise a few $ that can go towards some wheels to help get our Queen back on her feet, to her medical appointments and hopefully soon, back to work. Every single dollar will help (and be so gratefully appreciated), and no amount is too small. If you’d like to contribute please do so here.

I do also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge that I know there are others doing it tough right now, and encourage you to reach out to each other for support, get active in the group and connect with others because you just never know who might be willing and able to help. SOV is so much more than a singles group, it’s a community and this right here, is what community is all about.

Your generosity and support would mean the world to Cindy, let’s help her restore some faith in humanity.

Much love and gratitude to you all ❤️
