I’m absolutely shocked and deeply saddened to be writing this.

As a local & community leader here in Bangor, I never thought I’d see the day where youths of our own community would turn on people who have given so much to others. The recent vicious assault on a K9 Search & Rescue founder Ryan Gray and his loyal search dog Max is nothing short of disgraceful.

This is a team that has saved lives, searched tirelessly for missing people, and helped bring closure to countless families during their darkest moments. They have given their time, their energy, and their compassion without hesitation — and this is how they are repaid?

It’s heartbreaking.

That’s why I am setting up a GoFundMe to raise funds for K9 Search & Rescue following this horrific incident. The funds will go toward ensuring they can continue their vital, life-saving work.

I want to be completely transparent — every single penny raised will be accounted for and shown. This is about supporting those who have always been there for others when it mattered most.

Our community is better than this. Now is the time to stand together, show our support, and give something back to those who have given so much to many families etc
