Let's Find Rose & Rhonda a Place to Live
Donation protected
Rose and Rhonda are sisters who have been taking care of each other on and off the streets for years. Right now, they are in desperate need of stable, safe, and affordable housing so that Rose can have the rest of her skull re-attached. Last April, she suffered a subdermal hematoma that she survived. However, during her hospitalization, her doctors discovered that she also had leukemia. She immediately underwent chemotherapy and will be on anti-cancer medications for the rest of her life. Her cancer treatment prevented her from having the additional surgery to re-attach her skull. And her surgeon will not perform the surgery until she has a stable place to live and recuperate. Currently, Rose and Rhonda have marginal housing in an unsafe environment where other homeless people steal what little food and clothing they have. They panhandle to pay for rent, utilities, food, and medication.
Thanks to the generosity of many kind people in Winter Park, Florida, Rose and Rhonda have been able to survive, but their situation is getting worse. We are determined to set them up in a long-term, sustainable situation so Rose can get her operation as she is quite vulnerable with only a partial skull. Then, Rhonda can get back to work and keep them off the streets forever.
Please help us make a decent life for these two kind and gentle souls who have endured so much tragedy, including the deaths of their two brothers.
