Let’s Feed the Riverview Staff!!!
LET’S HELP OUR NEIGHBORS IN HEALTHCARE!
Since the outbreak of COVID19, we’ve seen how important our hospital workers really are to us. They are our friends, our family members, or the family of our friends, and our neighbors. And while many of us are cooped up in our homes, they are walking into the middle of this fight everyday, risking their health for all of us. Let’s show some appreciation!
Today, Monday April 6th, I got in touch with a Riverview employee named Larson Whelan, who is coordinating food donations for Riverview staff. I’ve also gotten in touch with a couple local Red Bank restaurants, and we can now get this underway.
I’ve got Jamian’s for pizzas, Johnny’s Pork Roll for breakfast sandwiches on board already and will be reaching out to others in the next couple days to see what else we can get lined up, now comes the hard part.
We need donations!
The local restaurants are hurting as is and we can’t expect them to do this on their own. We have the opportunity to support some of our favorite local eateries, keep them up and running, and feed our healthcare family during this pandemic.
Please consider donating to the cause, I’m workingwith these restaurants to get as much as we can for our money, but a hundred pizzas or a hundred breakfast sandwiches aren’t cheap!
If this gofundme takes off beyond expectations, and this crisis is over before we can spend what we take in feeding our local hospital, all remaining money will be donated to a charity that will help families of healthcare workers who are hurt by this crisis. I’ll look into an appropriate charity if that’s needed down the road, main goal right now is to get food flowing from our restaurants to Riverview staff.
And I would never ask for others to donate without doing so myself, so I’m starting off the pot with a thousand dollars. Updates on food orders with our donations will be posted when they go out, I’ve been told they have food lined up for the next couple days, but I’m trying to get the first order from this out this weekend!
