Let’s build Birdie 2.0!!!

Today tragedy struck hard at My Fancy Finds. Birdie - the mobile boutique, was crushed by a huge Poplar tree.
Many people have followed this journey. The life of Birdie. It all started in 2018 when Heather Buhaj saw an add on FB market place while waiting in the Dr office. A big, green, 1998 bluebird school bus. She was immediately in love. She (Birdie) wasn’t far away, about an hour, we loaded up one afternoon with my sister and brother-in-law, and off we went together to look at her. “Her” being Birdie. Heather was hooked and she wasn’t leaving without that bus. She had a vision…Birdie would become a mobile boutique.
Step 1 was getting the bus back to the farm
to begin work on it, it didn’t even run! The tow cost about as much as the bus did! My brother in law is a diesel mechanic who saved the day, and messed with it until he got it running! The dream was becoming reality!
Then the real work started. The floor was removed, and re-insulated, electrical was run along with a generator hookup, siding was installed, flooring was installed, we found tin roofing on the farm that was used to make dividing walls. It really came together pretty quick.
Heather documented everything, every step, on social media and live videos. And it was clear, from the start, that everyone loved Birdie! Soo many people walked up to the bus at events almost star struck, and always with a smile on their faces. No one ever left Birdie upset.
Now we’re left with trying to figure out how to move forward. 3 different insurance policies, have basically provided zero financial help. What little bit that was in the bus and was damaged will be replaced; standing racks, mirrors, air conditioners and the basics, but nothing for the bus itself…
Heather is not one to ask for help, ever. She’s a hard worker and basically would try to do everything on her own always and never ask for help from anyone. If you know her, you know this is the frustrating truth.
Many people have reached out already asking how they can help, can they donate, can we help get Birdie fixed?…Well, I’m not sure yet if it can be fixed. Doesn’t really look good. But if there is to be another “Birdie” another bus, she’s going to need help. Building something as special as Birdie takes blood, sweat, tears, time, and money.
Please feel free, not obligated to donate to the cause, and help us
make Birdie 2.0 a reality!
