Dear Friends and Supporters!

 This beloved ice cream truck

is getting ready to hit the streets for the first time in 26+ years!

  One of the Northernmost Ice Cream Trucks in the world, (Formerly Lil’ Delights) hasn’t had the joy of making memories in quite some time.  It was owned by the Lirette’s of Chatinika, and was often at many events in the area; Car Shows, Outhouse Races, Golden Days, Midnight Sun Festivals, Weekend Races, Arctic Man, and even the occasional event anywhere south of Denali Park up to Circle.

  Sadly though it had been vandalized and stripped of many parts in its dormancy; that’s where you come in!

The Goal:

•To deliver smiles, nostalgia, and delicious treats!

   -Through bringing classic Ice Cream & Novelties truck routes back to the northern Tanana Valley communities of Chatinika, Fox, Goldstream, and College —where summers are as short and sweet, like your favorite ice cream treat.

What We Need:

•Your Help:

 This campaign will cover repairing the essential components that are defunct and/or replacing equipment, such as:

•Swing Arm:

  A vital sign aiding visibility and promoting safety, only required in some states; (thankfully many small communities throughout our nation have adopted requirements into their local ordinances through acts like Tristan’s Law.) the FNSB has no standing on ice cream truck safety swing arms—while Anchorage does.

  I am a firm advocate of safety, and will be implementing the use of a swing arm.

  With your support we’ll be able to purchase the appropriate vendor related safety swing arm and have it installed. 

•Speaker & Music Box:

  The Sweet Siren Call of any Ice Cream Truck. 

  With your support, we’ll be able to install a delightful music box that will make this truck hard to miss!

•Chest Freezer:

  All ice cream needs a frosty home! A reliable chest freezer will keep your treat perfectly chilled, ready to delight taste buds. The ideal freezer cabinet should be able to maintain -10°F or colder. 

  With your support a proper freezer can be acquired from our local ice cream distributor.

•Generator and Rack:

  While some trucks use inverter systems to power their equipment, this can be unreliable, and requires the ice cream truck’s engine to always be idling to maintain the freezers. However, a small portable generator dedicated for the freezer will ensure sub zero temperatures while out on routes or at events. The previous generator housing had been removed from the truck and a new one will need to be fabricated.

  With your generous contributions a generator rack will be fabricated, along with purchasing a generator from Rod’s Saw Shop.

•Brakes

 One of the most important things needed for maintaining safety; brakes; without brakes, well…there’s just no safe way to stop!

  With your donations we’ll be able to take the truck into the shop and get its brakes serviced to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our little customers!
