Jukumu Letu CBO is a community based organization looking in Ngong Township Kajiado County and Musitinyi Village, Vihiga County in Kenya.
Many families in Kenya are currently out of work and schools are closed.
Families are undergoing difficult due to lack of basic needs such as food, water, shelter and education.
Covid-19 pandemic led to closure of all learning institution. Due to this children and teenagers have been left to fend for themselves on streets where they are easily exposed to violence and abuse and are st a higher risk of being lured into institution and drug addiction.
What's Jukumu Letu doing in this period?
-distributing food to 166 to most vulnerable families
-handwashing installation in slums
-offering psychological support to abused children and adults
-raising awareness in the community on aspects of prevention
-offering activities for children and teenagers in a safe and secure enviroment while observing the Covid-19 protocols
-distributing protective devices to combat Covid-19

Jukumu Letu é un'organizzazione non governativa che collabora con la comunità di Ngong Township nella contea di Kajiado e con la comunità del villaggio Musitinyi nella contea di Vihiga, in Kenya.
Attualmente in Kenya molte famiglie vivono un periodo di grande difficoltà a causa della mancanza di bisogni fondamentali come cibo, acqua, riparo ed istruzione.
La pandemia globale dovuta al Covid-19 ha portato il governo alla chiusura di tutte le scuole lasciando bambini ed adolescenti senza istruzione, per le strade insicure, abbandonati a se stessi, alla mercé di abusi e violenze e con il rischio costante di entrare nel mondo della prostituzione.
Cosa fa Jukumu Letu in questo periodo?
-distribuisce mensilmente cibo a circa 166 famiglie
-installa taniche d'acqua nello slum di Mathare
-offre supporto psicologico a bambini ed adulti vittime di abusi
-sensibilizza la comunità sugli aspetti della prevenzione
-propone attività per bambini ed adolescenti in luogo protetto
-distribuisce dispositivi di protezione per contrastare il Covid-19.
