Let’s Send Justin to Overnight Camp!
Many of you know Justin, our son Jericho’s good buddy, brother, and all-around wonderful human being who we love very much. He’s 14 yrs. old. We’re very lucky to have him stay at our house some weekends and for more extended periods, usually during the summer
Some of you may also know that Justin lost his father when he was 4 years old, with whom he and his older brother Rodney were living during the time of his death. We lived just two doors away from them at the time. Justin now lives with his mom and 5 of his brothers and sisters, where he will be heading into 9th grade in the Fall.
Justin is a very special kid who is not only warm-hearted and extremely social, but also great with kids and a lover of fun! His family cannot afford to send him to sleep-away camp during the summer, but he very much wants to go and we think he will absolutely love it! Its an opportunity for him to spend six weeks in a beautiful wooded setting in southern NY State, and if he likes it and the camp likes him, it’s a place where he may be able to return to work in the future as an assistant counselor or counselor!
The camp is quite expensive, but we’ve secured a significant discount from the camp’s owners. The asked-for amount of money here is less than half of the full camp tuition for the summer. Cheri and I will commit to getting the rest of the money needed if we can get close to our goal here, and of course no one’s donation will be used if we fall short of the goal of sending Justin to camp.
