Let's build a playground for Lord Elgin PS

The outpouring of support for this project has been overwhelming, and from the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who has donated and shared this story. I would have never believed we could have achieved raising $20,000, but within the last 48 hours we have surpassed our goal! I have updated the goal to $54,000, the amount of money it would take to complete both playgrounds. Thank you! We are eternally grateful.

Lord Elgin is an elementary school in North-East London, Ontario. The student demographic is diverse, and includes a large number families living in poverty - 95% of the families live in subsidized housing.
Currently, the school has no playground equipment. The former structure was removed earlier this year due to safety concerns.
To replace the playground, it will cost approximately $74,000. There are two proposed playgrounds including one for kindergarteners. Due to the socio-economic status of the community, school-based fundraising is extremely limited and would take an estimated 15 years to achieve this fundraising goal.
Play structures are necessary for the development of large motor and social skills, particularly in younger children. The current lack of equipment leaves the students with very few activity choices during outdoor play.
