Blessings and light to Everyone,
My name is Ja'Anubis Iqhawe Director of ATS Creative Academy CIC. We deliver Creative based Clubs during the term holidays, along with Creative Development programmes which are directed to support those on an Emotional & Mental level; our youth, young people and adults.
At this current moment due to cutbacks of funds in the HAF (Holiday, Activities and Food) Provision set for families on receipt of Benefits, UC (Universal Credit), and Low-Income Households, we can now only offer a 4 days per child spaces for our Holiday provision, rather than a full 8 days. This is due to how the Council has organised the distribution of funds.
Now the object of the HAF Provision is to allow children from the ages of 5 years old to 16 years of age, access to these HAF Provisions during the holidays, to give the families extra food provisions and spaces at the Holiday Clubs, free of charge.
There are 6000 children and young people whose families are allowed access to the HAF Provision. But the Council can only realistically house and support 2500 children and young people on the HAF Provision, with the offer of 4 days rather than 8 days.
This would leave 3500 young people without access to the programme and as a Community Interest Organisation, we can not charge families on benefits or low-income households, as this will be defeating the object of the HAF Provision.
So we are raising extra funds, so can support and give spaces for more young people to join our holiday Clubs and our Creative development programmes.
Our aim is to give as many young people the opportunity to access clubs, Holiday clubs, and creative development programmes as possible.
Any contributions to our cause will be a massive help to support more young people in our community and offer our families on Benefits or low-income extra support by hosting more provisions and clubs for our young people to access.
Where will the funds go?
The funds contributed by the community will go towards the following:
1) Venue Space/Hall Hire (for longer hours to be suitable for working families on a low income)
2) Resources (extra food provisions for families on Benefits, UC or low wages) & Materials for creative arts & crafts, creative media, volunteers & staff assistance
3) Field trips
4) Creative Packs so children & young people have creative activities to do at home (swaying away from the attention of console gaming)
All donators may subscribe to our website to receive our monthly newsletter and be kept updated with the progress of our venture!
Thank you for your time & attention, along with any help & donations contributed by you the people, helping us to help our community further & support families, young people & adults within a time of inflation & financial cutbacks!
With Love & Honour
