I’m reaching out on behalf of my brave and beautiful niece, Danni.

In 2021, Danni was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a rare but life-threatening blood disorder where the bone marrow is unable to produce enough blood cells and platelets. This devastating condition put her at serious risk of infections, heart complications, and severe bleeding. Danni’s teenage years, which should have been filled with school, friends, and making memories, were instead spent in and out of hospitals undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments. She missed significant time at school and, heartbreakingly, was unable to sit her GCSEs.

Despite everything, Danni has faced her challenges with strength and resilience. She worked tirelessly over the Christmas period, saving up every penny to book a holiday with friends this summer — a chance to finally experience life as a normal 19-year-old, something most of us can easily take for granted.

But life threw another curveball. Danni was recently diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, an autoimmune disorder that now further complicates her health. Due to her complex medical history, her travel insurance premiums have skyrocketed — to the point where it may stop her from going on this much-deserved trip.

We are hoping to raise funds to help cover the additional insurance costs and ensure Danni gets to have this holiday — a chance to step away from hospitals, tests, and treatments, and simply live.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help get her closer to this dream.
