Hey y’all, Chef G (aka Gerald Darling) here — thank you for even landing on this page.

This GoFundMe started as a seed fund to get some big, beautiful community projects off the ground — things like:

Developing recipes that are EBT/SNAP-accessible

Launching pop-up dinners

Creating food access & sustainability zines

Filming an IG/TikTok series that highlights equitable foodways

And investing in better tools to level up my kitchen game

But then — on June 7, 2025 — I burned the absolute HELL out of my dominant hand.

Since then, it’s been doctor visits, recovery time, missed gigs, and scraping by to cover basic bills and stay afloat. Naturally, those dream projects had to take a backseat while I focused on healing and just getting through.

Now, I’m officially back in action (as the kids say, “so f-king back”) — medically cleared, cooking again, and securing steady work.

But before I can get back to pouring into the community the way I want to, I need a little help refilling my own cup — financially, physically, and spiritually.
