My name is Emmet Fields. I'm a pupil of Portmarnock Community School, and along with Fingal County Council, the school is a partner with Action Ireland Trust. Action Ireland Trust is a registered charity dedicated to transforming the lives of rural communities in Lesotho. It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lesotho Ministry for Education and Training to partner with five schools in Maseru to provide extensive teacher training and to improve school facilities for over 5,000 learners. As a result, significant infrastructural improvements are ongoing at the local Ha Hlalele high school and primary school, including sanitary installations. In April, I am travelling to Lesotho to volunteer for two weeks to teach the children and carry out a range of works on the school. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
