Lentini Family

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Joseph C. Lentini (49). Joey is survived by his loving wife Alisa, and their two beautiful daughters Julianna (14) and Alexa (4), his sister Michelle, the Lentini & Stillo families, and the many friends he touched throughout his life. He is predeceased by his father Joseph and mother Louise.

Joey was born and raised in the Morris Park section of the Bronx where he attended Saint Clare’s of Assisi. He played Van Nest Little League and Pop Warner football for the Morris Park Lions. As a kid, hanging out with his friends, Joey would just about play any sport. Family and sports defined his life. He went on to graduate from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1989 and graduated from Iona College in 1993 and had a successful career as a property manager.  Joey was most recently working for Sopher Management.

Following in his dad’s footsteps, Joey stayed involved with the Van Nest Little League where he coached scores of children (including his daughter and niece) and served on the Board of Directors. He had a great and lasting impact on so many Little Leaguers during his time there and developed numerous long-lasting relationships.

When the Lentini’s moved to Eastchester in 2010, his devotion to Little League and school sports continued. From Eastchester Blue Devils Cheer, to TEB softball, to Eastchester Modified Cheer, Joey was always there not only for support, but to also coach and lend a hand during practices and games (TEB).

Joey always put others before himself. Alisa, Julianna, Alexa, and his family and friends were everything to him. Joey is best known as a loving and supportive husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and to a remarkable number of people, near and far, a loyal and charismatic friend who always had a smile from ear to ear!  As Joey’s family and friends know, no matter where Joey might be, he would often run into a friend, not just an acquaintance but a true friend, illustrating the kind of person he was and the number of people that he touched throughout his lifetime.

From summer vacations, to Lake Isle weekends, to backyard barbeques, Joey was the life of the party and we loved him. We are all hurting and will find a way to carry Joey’s legacy forward and keep him in our hearts forever.

Our goal is to make sure Joey’s children have what they need for their futures. If you would like to contribute in lieu of flowers, your generosity is greatly appreciated. As we keep his family in our thoughts and prayers, we thank you for the endless love and support. Please pass this along to whomever you think would like to show their love for Joey.

His smile was infectious, his laugh contagious, and he had the biggest heart.

“Hey bud”, until we meet again……We love you!
