We are starting a GoFundMe account for Lenny Gebhard, who only recently learned that his wife, Gina’s cancer has now spread throughout her lungs. As most of you know, Lenny has been one of the leaders of our psychiatry service for many years. In his role as Senior Inpatient Nurse Director for psychiatry he was instrumental in our opening of the Epstein Center for Behavioral Health. More recently, he has led the opening of the 16 bed Adult Mental Health Unit (AMU) in the Emergency Department. Lenny’s deep clinical experience, leadership skills, empathy, and willingness to help others has been greatly appreciated not only in psychiatry, but across the medical center.

Gina has fought courageously with a number of cancers during the last 19 years and has received remarkable support and care at the Dana Farber. Many of you know how hard Lenny has worked to be present for Gina while continuing to provide his needed leadership at the hospital, which has required the use of much of his earned time. There is now only a small window of time for Lenny and Gina to have the opportunity to go on a vacation that had been planned for June. Your donation to this GoFundMe account will help Lenny and Gina to take this vacation and for Lenny to spend the time with Gina unencumbered by concerns about his dwindling earned time.
