Lend a Hand to the Gutierrez Family in Their Time of Need

I’m reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for my family. In the past two months, my little brother and mom have faced unimaginable challenges, and we urgently need your help to get them back on their feet.

On November 19, my brother was in a head-on collision that totaled his car. Thankfully, the accident wasn’t at high speed, and he walked away without serious injuries. However, dealing with insurance has been a nightmare. After paying a hefty deductible, he’s been waiting for weeks for any resolution on his car, leaving him and my mom stretched thin financially.

Then, the unthinkable happened. Early this morning—December 27 at 3 AM—we got a terrifying call. My brother was in another accident. Heavy fog caused him to hit a pole while exiting the highway. This time, he wasn’t as lucky. The impact caused him to hit his head on the windshield, shattering the glass completely. We are so grateful he only has a concussion wasn’t more seriously injured. Sadly, his car is completely totaled—again.

Losing two cars in two months has devastated my family. My mom, who used all her savings to buy her car in October, is now struggling to support my brother as he faces this second blow. With both of them just starting new jobs and my mom working hard to finish her schooling to become a CNA, not having a reliable car is threatening their ability to move forward.

My brother and mom are some of the hardest-working, most selfless people I know, and they would never ask for help themselves. But right now, they need us.

We are raising $10,000 to help them find a reliable cash car that would allow them to continue going to work.

Me acerco a ustedes en un momento increíblemente difícil para mi familia. En los últimos dos meses, mi hermano menor y mi mamá han enfrentado desafíos inimaginables, y necesitamos urgentemente su ayuda para que puedan salir adelante.

El 19 de noviembre, mi hermano estuvo en una colisión frontal que dejó su auto completamente destruido. Afortunadamente, el accidente no fue a alta velocidad, y pudo salir ileso. Sin embargo, lidiar con el seguro ha sido una pesadilla. Después de pagar un deducible considerable, ha estado esperando semanas por alguna resolución sobre su auto, dejando a mi hermano y a mi mamá en una situación financiera muy complicada.

Luego, ocurrió lo impensable. Esta mañana temprano—27 de diciembre a las 3 AM—recibimos una llamada aterradora. Mi hermano tuvo otro accidente. Debido a una densa niebla, chocó contra un poste al salir de la autopista. Esta vez no tuvo tanta suerte. El impacto hizo que golpeara su cabeza contra el parabrisas, rompiéndolo por completo. Le diagnosticaron una conmoción cerebral, pero estamos profundamente agradecidos de que no haya sufrido heridas más graves. Lamentablemente, su auto quedó destruido una vez más.

Perder dos autos en dos meses ha devastado a mi familia. Mi mamá, quien usó todos sus ahorros para comprar su auto en octubre, ahora está luchando por apoyar a mi hermano mientras enfrenta este segundo golpe. Con ambos comenzando nuevos trabajos recientemente, y mi mamá esforzándose por terminar sus estudios para convertirse en CNA, no tener un auto confiable amenaza su capacidad de seguir adelante.

Mi hermano y mi mamá son algunas de las personas más trabajadoras y generosas que conozco, y nunca pedirían ayuda por sí mismos. Pero en este momento, nos necesitan.
