Stan's and my dear friend had developed an alcohol abuse disorder that was really negatively impacting his life. In January, he had the opportunity to participate in a year-long program where housing, food, and treatment are provided at no cost by a Christian ministry. We are so grateful that he was given this opportunity and that he bravely took up the challenge. Our friend has now been sober for seven months and we couldn't be prouder of him. He will be exiting the program in December and starting from scratch. He's reached the point in his treatment where he is beginning to plan for the future including looking for employment. To this end, he is in need of a computer and we would like to support him in this. Our finances are very tight at this time but we know we have an awesome community who would love to lend a hand. Even $10 or $20 will really help. We're keeping this post anonymous for privacy reasons, but he is aware of this fundraiser and will certainly appreciate any words of encouragement from any of you out there including fellow members of "sober club."
