Lemon was rescued as a neonatal kitten along with his siblings after their mom disappeared. When someone reached out for help, we stepped in and took the whole litter. Lemon grew into a happy, loving little boy… until we noticed something was very wrong. As Lemon grew, he began straining constantly to urinate. What first looked like mild discomfort quickly became alarming. After rushing him to the vet, we received devastating news: Lemon was born with a severely abnormal urethra. He has almost no opening to pass urine, forcing him to strain painfully every time he tries to go. This condition is extremely dangerous - without treatment, it can become life-threatening very quickly. Lemon urgently needs a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery, a procedure that creates a new, wider opening for urine to pass. This procedure must be done by a board-certified surgeon only!
On top of this, one of Lemon’s testicles never descended. This means surgeons must also open his abdomen to locate and safely remove it, adding more risk, complexity, and cost to the procedure. The total cost of Lemon’s surgery and care is $5,000. This is an overwhelming amount, but without it, Lemon will continue to suffer daily pain, and his condition could become fatal.
We are asking for your help to give him that chance. Please help us save Lemon.
