Lemon Grove Promenade Park Project
THE PROJECT
The City of Lemon Grove is coordinating with us to explore the opportunity to temporarily redesign their Promenade Park, located behind the Trolley stop, at the intersection of Lemon Grove Avenue and Broadway.
First, we asked the community "What do you want here?", through a series of signs posted around the park.

We collected your feedback now we plan to use low-cost temporary changes to the built environment to improve your gathering place. We are spring boarding off community driven design your input, unlike traditional designs methods that are superimposed on to communities.
By implementing TACTICAL URBANISM, we want to increase connections to downtown Lemon Grove, and program the park according to the needs of the community to elevate this currently underused, but valuable resource.
After 90 days, we will evaluate with the City Council and staff to review issues and concerns associated with the plan and formulate a permanent improvement plan for consideration.
GOALS
We believe the Promenade Park should be the heart of Lemon Grove’s downtown. The City’s plan for the extension of the Promenade will create walkable connections within the park. We want to bolster these connections while alleviating current barriers.

We intend to take that first step towards creating an inviting, walkable experience for downtown Lemon Grove.
Based on your feedback, our goal for the redesign is the create activity, making the Promenade Park a focal point for downtown Lemon Grove. We intend to make the Promenade Park a comfortable place where all ages can take part in free local events. Through these events we intend to generate foot traffic for our local businesses, as well as provide much needed safe park space for residents in North Lemon Grove.
