In recent days, the Kristin Depression caused severe destruction in Leiria and surrounding areas, leaving many communities without electricity, access to clean water, food, or safe roads. Remote villages were especially affected, becoming isolated due to fallen trees, blocked roads, and infrastructure damage.

Firefighters, volunteers, and local residents have been working nonstop under extremely difficult conditions. The volunteer firefighters’ headquarters also suffered significant physical damage, limiting their ability to respond while they are most needed.

This fundraising campaign was created to provide immediate, practical help where it is urgently needed.

The funds raised will be used to:

Purchase power generators to restore electricity to remote and isolated locations

Buy fuel to operate generators and essential equipment

Acquire chainsaws and tools to clear roads and allow emergency access

Provide water, food, and essential supplies to affected people and animals

Supply first aid materials for emergency response

Support the volunteer firefighters, helping repair damage to their headquarters and replace essential equipment

Buy roof repairing materials
