I am organizing this campaign for my mother, who is seeking legal representation to defend the best interests of my little sister, her 4-year-old child.

For more than a year, my mother has been fighting to defend the best interests of her daughter, now 4 years old, in a family situation that has become particularly complex.

Early on, she felt that certain aspects of her daughter’s situation were not being taken into account as they should have been. With very limited resources but unwavering determination, she tried to act on her own to ensure that her child’s lived reality would be heard.

This mother bears full responsibility for all the expenses of her household. Despite repeated efforts, she has never been able to access appropriate legal representation. The available services and assistance required financial contributions beyond what she could afford, leaving her with no choice but to represent herself in a process that was nevertheless heavy and complex.

Being self-represented involved many difficulties: understanding the rules, deadlines, legal language, and how to present information appropriately. Despite her good faith and constant commitment to her daughter, certain aspects of the case could not be defended in an optimal way.

Today, the situation has led to a separation between the mother and her child. This mother believes that her lack of experience with the judicial system weighed heavily on the outcome of the case, and that proper legal representation could have allowed for a different approach.

At this stage, turning to a lawyer is the only remaining option to properly defend the child’s best interests, to have the situation re-examined within a structured legal framework, and to ensure that all relevant elements can be presented clearly and in accordance with the law.
