Hello, my name is Melisa, and I’m a mom to two amazing boys-P and G-both of whom have special medical needs. My youngest, G, is level 3 autistic and receives daily therapy, including physical, occupational, and speech services.

Since September 2023, I’ve been the sole caregiver after my spouse left our home. In the summer of 2024, he filed for divorce, and I’ve been doing everything I can to keep our children safe, supported, and housed here in Gilbert.

During our marriage, I was the primary parent while my spouse was the main breadwinner. Now, as a single mom working as a hairstylist, my hours are limited due to G’s therapy schedule. Over 70% of my income goes toward rent. With unpaid child support and late fees piling up, I’m now facing the possibility of eviction.

My attorney recently had to withdraw from my case due to an outstanding balance, even though I’ve paid everything I can-including part of my tax return-with some monthly help from friends and family. Legal delays and tactics have made it even harder to move forward, and I worry this is intentional to leave me without representation at a critical time.

I’m asking for help to retain legal counsel so I can continue to fight for my rights and build a stable future for P and G. Every dollar raised will go directly toward legal fees to ensure I can be properly represented in court.
